Greetings all, and welcome to Burlesque Press. This is the place where I’ll talk about all things literary, extraordinary, or literally extraordinary, or where I’ll humbly and desperately beg others to write about these things for me. Hey, you know, sometimes the dog needs walking, or the bathroom needs cleaning, or… yeah ok. You get it. Soemtimes I’m just feeling lazy! Plus, I like reading other people’s stuff sometimes you know? Me, I always know what I’m thinking. It gets dull up in here sometimes.
My personal belief is that the writing world has become too chaotic, too insular, too competitive, and basically too damn hard. I want to approach it from a different place. I want to support writers out there that I know, published or unpublished. So I’ll regularly post calls for work, good publishing news, and other tidbits of interest. We’ll talk about whatever we feel like talking about. And we’ll make fun of whatever we feel like making fun of. The idea is not to take ourselves too seriously. I have a tendency to do that. It tends to get in the way of writing. It tends to get in the way of a lot of things. So lets take a deep breath, and just – let loose. Burlesque Style.
