Paradelle for the Goth Girls by Danielle Blasko

“Dead girls don’t say no.”
“Dead girls don’t say no.”
Walls can sound perverse.
Walls can sound perverse.
No walls can say,
“Don’t sound dead, perverse girls.”

The White Rabbit pulses through cold veins.
The White Rabbit pulses through cold veins.
Warm red lips throb in smoke and strobe.
Warm red lips throb in smoke and strobe.
White Rabbit strobe pulses in the smoke
and warm red veins throb through cold lips.

A wan moon pales moist skin.
A wan moon pales moist skin.
A name that never shows its face.
A name that never shows its face.
That name pales a wan face.
A moon never shows its moist skin.

No Rabbit in the Moon sound-pulses throb
through a wan white strobe.
Can cold perverse lips say,
“Moist dead veins smoke warm, red skin”?
Walls don’t name a face that never pales
and shows its girls.
