A Love Poem, of Sorts by Eva Langston

Come on and kiss me!  Let the microbes
That feast on your face,
Hide up your nose, and
Live between your teeth
Travel between us…
Riding waves of saliva,
floating on flaking skin,
Moving down my tongue,
and back to yours again.

Come on and touch me!
Feel my epidermis brush against yours.
Underneath the layers of fat and flesh
Feel my blood and guts churn.
Let’s make our bodies
Slap together –
Two fleshy water bags
You will sweat like the ocean,
And I will roll like the tide.
