Hello all! Often, in the middle of summer with hot, humid, long days we begin to think longingly of cooler months, sweaters, and hot beverages cupped in chilled hands. Today’s writing prompt is inspired by this grass is greener in oppposite seasons mentality. Set a scene or a poem in which a town wakes up one summer morning to find that its lake is frozen and the town is covered with snow. All the leaves are gone from the trees, seemingly overnight, and and the lake, suddenly, is safe for ice skating. Did the entire town sleep for six months? Or is something more sinister afoot?
